Full of fantastical pairings of haute couture, art and media, the China: Through the Looking Glass exhibition at the Met transported visitors into a fantasy world. The show thoughtfully investigates the broad influence of Chinese motifs, imagery, art, inventions and culture on the West and how it has inspired creativity, especially when it comes to high fashion.

Sensory thrilling through noise, moving images, and spotlighted pieces, each room was enchanting, inspiring and artistically delightful. The exhibition features an array of couture from the fashion houses of Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, John Galliano and Karl Lagerfeld, perfectly pairing the fashions alongside its stylistic references in Chinese art.
