Landscape Masterpiece
New York City’s Central Park spans 840 acres and is brimming with organic and man made treasures—bridges, ponds, gardens, reservoirs, performance spaces, castles, play spaces, pedestrian and vehicular paths, a zoo and much more. The natural sanctuary, designed by Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux, is often hailed as a masterpiece of landscape design with thoughtfully planned out pathways for different forms of circulation.
Central Park is one of my favorite places in the city, standing in a juxtaposition to all of the city’s hardscape. Its idyllic setting is perfect for strolling, people watching, recreation, picnics, and inspiring new design ideas.
